LinkedIn May Be Sharing Your Public Profile Information in Their Social Ads - Work It Daily
LinkedIn May Be Sharing Your Public Profile Information in Their Social Ads - Work It Daily I modified my previous post entitled, âLinkedIn is Sharing Your Private Information With Their Business Partnersâ based on information I received directly from a LinkedIn representative. Apparently there has been some misunderstanding as to exactly what information is being used in LinkedInâs social ads and it is NOT private information, it is only information available in your public profile. None-the-less you can still opt-out of your public information being shared in social ads by following this procedure: Hover over the user name in the top right hand corner of any LinkedIn page and click âSettings.â On the Settings page, click âAccount.â On the Account tab, click âManage Social Advertising.â Uncheck the box next to âLinkedIn may use my name, photo in social advertising.â Click the âSaveâ button. Users also may want to opt out of receiving e-mails from LinkedIn advertisers. This setting also allows LinkedIn advertising partners to spam users with promotions during e-mail marketing campaigns if the user follows the brand. To opt out of this setting, click the âE-mail Preferencesâ tab and click on the âTurn on/off partner InMailâ link to locate the check boxes. Feel free to read the entire post from LinkedIn regarding this issue entitled: Privacy, Advertising, and Putting Members First Photo credit: Shutterstock Have you joined our career growth club?Join Us Today!
